Did You R.S.V.P.?
Because we are too busy, we often don’t take the time to R.S.V.P. for a party as we should. Do you know what the letters stand for? It comes from a French expression “respondez s’il vous plait” meaning “please respond”. When written on an invitation it means the invited guest must tell the host whether or not they plan to attend the party. It does not mean to respond only if you are coming. This is a courtesy to the hostess so that they will be able to determine a headcount to plan for food and drinks for the party. Having an incomplete list of respondents can cause numerous problems for the host.
So next try to remember to R.V.S.P. appropriately and as soon as possible when you receive that next invitation.
